Course Description
Theoretical considerations on investment, introduction of the concept of investment in human capital and social capital. Relationship between growth and human capital; work on the case for investing in health and health care as a means to achieve economic growth. Introduction to the investment appraisal techniques. The use of DCF techniques for investment appraisal. Distinction between economic and financial appraisal. Investment appraisal case study. DCF technique to inform investment decision. The role of private sector and contribution of private capital in financial investment in health care.
