HEALTH ECONOMICS AND FINANCING

Course Description

Students will learn how to analyze important health policy issues with basic economics. Topics for discussion include health insurance, the role of assessment and regulation in public health promotion, hospital mergers, cost-effectiveness analysis, implications of growth for healthcare providers and health care reform. The purpose of financial planning and management is to accurately record and report on financial performance of the organization, and to project and plan for performance in future operating periods.

Concept of human capital, and investment in human capital as prerequisites for economic development. Subsidiary issues in pre-accession stage related to investment in health system.
