Professor Stavljenic Rukavina PhD, is a Medical Biochemistry professor at Zagreb University Medical School and School of Pharmacy and Biochemistry. She is Head of Clinical Diagnostics Laboratory, Zagreb University Medical School and Clinical Hospital Centre Zagreb. Prof. Stavljenic-Rukavina graduated at Zagreb University School of Pharmacy. In 1971 graduates programs at the Royal, NATO Advanced Study Institute and Simon Stevin Institute in Bruges (1976), NATO Advanced Study Institute and Fondazione Giovanni Lorenzini, Belgiratte (1986). She becomes Assistant Professor in 1981, Associate Professor in 1982, and Professor in 1985 at Zagreb University Medical School, in 1990 Professor at the Zagreb University School of Pharmacy and Biochemistry. Prof. Stavljenic Rukavina is member of the Croatian Medical Association, Croatian Society for Human Genetics, Croatian Society of Medical Biochemists, Deutsche Gesselschaft fur Klinische Chemie, European Society for Human Genetics, International Federation for Clinical Chemistry, Croatian Academy of Medical Sciences. She is Editor-in-chief of Biochemia Medica, member of editorial board of II Friuli Medico, Alpe-Adria Journal of Medicine, and chairman of Croatian Chamber of Medical Biochemists. Since 1990 she is a full member of the Croatian Academy of Medical Sciences.
