Velimir Srica, PhD, graduated from the Faculty of Economics, University of Zagreb; MSc at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. As a holder of the Fulbright grant, MBA from Graduate School of Business at Columbia University, New York. He holds a doctorate in Information Systems Management. He is research adviser and full professor at the Zagreb University Faculty of Economics, and visiting lecturer at UCLA (University of California at Los Angeles). He was also visiting lecturer at the Beijing People’s University in the People’s Republic of China, and in Budapest, Maribor, Graz. He is the founder and director of MBA program ‘Information Management’ at the Zagreb University Faculty of Economics. He was the director of the Croatian Information Activities Institute, the Minister of Science, Technology, and Computing, and a member of the Croatian Government from 1986 to 1990, the chairman of the Commission for Technological Cooperation within the Alps-Adriatic Region, a member of the EGIDA (European Citizens Initiative for a Democratic Alternative), and an honorary member of the Croatian Helsinki Committee. He is a member of the Managing Board of CEEMAN (Central and Eastern European Management Development Association). He is the program director of DELFIN (Developing Effective Leadership for Innovation), a private executive/management development school. He is a holder of the Gerald Ford grant and winner of the Eisenhower Fellowship grant by the US Government for 1990. He was the head of the Croatian Presidential Working Group for Informatization Strategy. He is a co-author of the International Encyclopaedia of Business and Management, Thomson Publishing Co. London 1997, and of the Handbook of IT in Business in 1999. He published 32 scientific and professional books, over 200 research and professional papers, and about 70 articles in popular magazines. He also published a collection of poetry, and won the Golden Pen, the Croatian Journalist Society award for 1988.
